Vox part number 09-1105-0. Ferule (eyelet) part 09-1108-0. Covered gear tuning key, six on a plate. With Vox motif on each gear cover. The plate itself, and gear covers are held in place using the same seven mounting screws. As fitted to higher-end UK-built guitar models built at the JMI plant in Dartford: the Vox Phantom, Mark, New Escort, Consort and Soundcaster. Plate has a length of 153mm x 15mm; post diameter 6mm; covers: 18mm x 23mm x 8mm.
These tuning keys have quite a lot in common with the open gear, plastic-button tuning keys used on entry level guitars around the same time. They shared the same posts, gears, mouting screws and base plate. The footprint, post spacing (and therefore the required headstock holes) were identical, meaning any neck drilled for one set of keys, could be fitted with either. These metal button tuners were typically paired with the heavier hex-style ferules - as opposed to the lightweight round versions more associated with the plastic-button tuners.
