The Vox V2 single coil pickup was fitted to numerous British-built Vox guitar models, and is easily distinguished from the Vox V1 (which it largely replaced, at least in higher end models), in having a plastic cover with revealed (but not adjustable) polepieces. This pickup was always scratchplate mounted.
There are three variants, the narrow-spaced SP0 (Vox Victor), SP1 (used in the vast majority of cases), and the wide-spaced SP2, designed for certain bridge pickups aligned at an angle. But not all angled bridge pickups used the SP2: the Super Ace and Marauder, for example, (with just a shallow pickup angle) were fitted with three SP1s, whilst guitars like the Consort and Soundcaster (with a more extreme bridge pickup angle) were fitted with two SP1s, and 1 SP2.
D.C. resistance for these pickups was around 6kΩ.
Not to be confused with similar looking Italian-made pickups fitted to late sixties guitars made by Eko / EME.
