This page shows three basses: the Mark 4 bass (a Mark series solid body that didn't quite fit on the previous page), plus the Vox Cougar, Vox Escort - though this is mistakenly labelled Lynx (which is a six string guitar); and four guitars: Student Prince; Bobcat; Serenader and Jumbo. JMI were quite capable of building many solid body guitars, but electric acoustic instrument production was almost all outsourced to Italy. The Escort bass and Cougar pictured are products of Crucianelli, whilst the Bobcat was made by Eko.
April 1965 US prices for these guitars were as follows:
Mark 4 bass $350, Cougar bass $230; Escort bass $220, Student Prince, Bobcat, Serenader, Jumbo $130
The Vox Jumbo is described as follows:
An auditorium-size flat-top Jumbo. Can be fitted with pick-up and controls. Reinforced neck fitted with truss-rod for perfect alignment, and ovalled rosewood fingerboard with purfled fret edge for fast action. Body edges and sound hole bound with white plastic. Finished with natural polished top and contrasting sides and back.
