This page from the 1962 Vox 'Choice of the Stars' brochure shows a selection of early JMI Vox guitars all of which were produced in the UK, primarily for the British market. All the guitars shown are early designs, fitted with the metal-covered Vox V1 single coil pickups, so characteristic of early UK-built Vox's.
The precise configurations are unique to these very early JMI Vox guitars, and (except for the Dominator) unique to this catalogue. All of the models shown here would be redesigned/renamed over the next year or so, typically getting the same body style as the Dominator, though confusingly this model itself was soon to be renamed the Vox Shadow. The Clubman II and Duotone would both have this body style as the decade progressed, whilst the Clubman I was deleted; the Clubman was only listed as a dual pickup model in 1963 Vox literature. The Duotone would turn into a dual pickup version of the Dominator by 1964 (see the 1964 Vox 'Precision in Sound' catalogue).
The Super Ace, however was one model not to receive the Shadow/Dominator body style in 1963; it was one of the more expensive models, and as such did receive a new body, neck and, and was upgraded in a similar fashion to the Vox Ace with white plastic V2 pickups.
