After the popularity of the solid body Vox Mark VI, a hollow body version was launched. The Spitfire MK VI (not to be confused with the solid bodied Italian-built Vox Spitfire) was a UK-built, Vox semi-acoustic teardrop, first shown at the BMI trade fair, August 1965. It was then also produced (actually in larger numbers) in Recanati Italy, for the US market, where it was sold as the Mark VI acoustic.
