Page 9 shows two Gibson SG guitars, and describes a third: the SG Standard, SG Special (not pictured) and the SG Junior.
As is often the case in Selmer publicity material, the images and descriptions have simply carried over from previous catalogues. The picture of the SG Junior was used as early as 1963, whilst the SG Standard image was first used in 1965. Of course these guitars had updated since this time, and the Gibson SG of 1970/71 had the 'full body' scratchplate. Furthermore the SG Junior came equipped with a Gibson Vibrola as standard. Compare these guitars to those pictured in the 1970 US Gibson Solid Bodies brochure.
Selmer catalogues for the rest of the 1970s were significantly improved, and the 1972 Selmer catalogue shows the entire Gibson range accurately and in full colour. The SG Junior was described as follows:
A best seller that's now even better — with its double cutaway sculptured design and low price. You get Gibson quality and performance. A small, thin, solid body guitar, its beautiful cherry red finish on the finest mahogany. Nickel-plated metal parts and machine heads. Leather strap.
