The Committee was one of the finest Hofner electric-acoustic guitars available from Selmer throughout the 1960s, available in both full-body and thinline body styles from 1959. But towards the end of the decade large body electric acoustics were loosing ground to solid bodies, and the model was slowly being phased out. The August 1969 Selmer price list included all Committee variants but the accompanying catalogue (for the first time) excluded the model entirely. This 1971 catalogue, however, does include one Committee again, for the very last time, but with just one variant listed: the thin body Committee with Brunette finish, model code 5123/051. The accompanying price list (August 1971) includes only the full-body version 5123/05 - presumably in error, although both thin and deep models had typically been priced identically, so perhaps of little significance.
The description on this page is identical to that used since the 1967 Selmer catalogue, however the guitar image is now updated, finally showing the Committee fitted with the Hofner bar pickup described in the text.
