Page 23 details four Yamaha electric solid body guitars: SG-2A, SG-5A, SG-7A and SG-12A (twelve string) and two solid body basses: SB-5A and SB-7A. Yamaha guitars were a relatively new addition to the Selmer line, included in Selmer literature since the 1969 catalogue. Although Yamaha acoustic guitars remained in Selmer price lists for some years, these solid bodies were not so successful, and were dropped from the Selmer line by August 1972.
Guitars pictured are the dual pickup Yamaha SG-2A, triple pickup SG-5A and SB-2A bass. This new line is described as follows:
Yamaha is proud to present an exciting new dimension in guitar design and tone quality with this complete new line of solid body Electric guitars.
These guitars were developed with the uncompromising perfection of the Yamaha factory technicians to meet the rigid requirements of the professional performer.
Light in weight, perfect in balance, versatile in tone selection, de luxe appointments — all these outstanding features are incorporated in the new model Yamaha solid body guitar series.
