Two mainstays of the Gibson line in 1968 (and today!), the Gibson ES-335TD and ES-345TD. The image of the 345 was the same one Selmer had been using since August 1963 (see the 1963/1964 Selmer catalog), however the 335 image is updated to show the Cherry finish rather than sunburst (although in black and white!), block inlays rather than dot, and the trapeze tailpiece rather than a stop tailpiece.
The ES-335TD is described as follows:
A news maker from its first appearance, this model offers outstanding performance for ensembles, recording, radio and TV at an amazingly modest price. It offers all the advantages of Gibsons thin-body design with its ease of handling, easy fingering and fast action… It's sparkling sustaining tone and instant response. Semi- Solid body construction. Beautiful curly maple arched top and back, pearl inlays and nickel-plated metal parts.
