The Gibson range of Jumbo Flat Top guitars available in the US in 1965/66 was at least twice as big as included in this catalogue, but the top of the line model anywhere was the J-200, or J-200N in natural (rather than Sunburst) finish. Spruce top, maple back and sides, crown position marker inlays, gold plated machine heads and bound throughout. This guitar was more expensive than all of the other Guitars in this catalogue, save the Barney Kessel Custom, shown on page 28. It also benefited from a bigger body (17" wide), and longer scale (25 1/2") as described in the text:
Called "King of the Flat Top Guitars" for its dramatic beauty, booming resonance, and penetrating carrying power... built with an extra large tone chamber and many exclusive design features. Very showy in appearance, flawless in workmanship. outstanding in performance
