1965/66 catalog entry for the Hagstrom Viking bass (or Concord, as it was named in the United States).
Hagstrom present a new instrument which will be around for a long time. A fine-looking base in the Viking styling. Two pick-ups to give a wide choice of tone from the low guttural of the electro-acoustic base to that ‘sharper’ solid sound. This guitar has been designed to allow effortless playing on long sessions; slim, low action neck with a slightly cambered rosewood finger-board; Head with heavy-duty machines, all on the same side for easy tuning; light-weight, balanced, contoured body. Precision made tailpiece to take the great tension exerted by bass strings. Exceptionally high standards of workmanship. In every aspect an outstanding instrument.
This bass is listed as available in Sunburst finish (though later Cherry Red also) and had a 1966 UK price of 60 gns.
