Page 21 describes two Hagstrom semi-acoustic instruments, the Hagstrom Swedish Viking and Swedish Viking bass. After many years of distribution by Selmer, Hagstrom was now distributed by Rosetti - who updated the name from Viking to Swedish Viking. For example see the Vining in the 1965 Selmer catalogue.
The Hagstrom Swedish Viking semi-acoustic bass was described as follows:
Here is a fine-looking bass in the VIKING styling. Two pick-ups to give a wide choice of tone from the low guttural of the electro-acoustic bass to that "sharper" solid sound. This guitar has been designed to allow effortless playing on long sessions; Slim, low action neck with slightly cambered rosewood fingerboard; Head with heavy-duty machines, all on same side for easy tuning; lightweight, balanced, contoured body. Precision made tailpiece to take the great tension exerted by bass strings. Exceptionally high standards of workmanship. In every respect and outstanding instrument.
1971 prices for these guitars were: Swedish Viking £85, and Swedish Viking bass £88.
