Epiphone solid body electric guitar. The EPI 9525 (initially known in the USA as the Epiphone 1802T, but later known as the ET-270) was a Stratocaster-styled offset solid-body electric guitar, manufactured for Epiphone by Matsumoku in Japan. This is an early example of this guitar - note the single sided Fender-style headstock - a feature of only the very earliest guitars from mid-late 1970. Very few images of this short-lived configuration appear in early Epiphone publicity: only this page and another Rosetti advert from November 1970 (7 New Epiphones At Fantastic New Prices). By late 1970 or very early 1971 the 9525 had switched to the more traditional Epiphone two-sided headstock. See the equivalent page of the 1971 Rosetti Epiphone catalogue and the revised 7 New Epiphones advert from the February 1971 issue of UK music magazine Beat Instrumental.
The EPI 9525 solid body electric was described as follows:
Modern deep cutaway design, high gloss cherry-red finish, three piece low action adjustable neck, Rosewood fingerboard, pearl dot inlays, two powerful pickups, pickup selector switch, tone switch, volume control, tone control. Chrome plated parts
The 1970 UK launch price for the Epiphone 9525 was £52.
