The Epiphone acoustic thin series continues from the previous page with the new EPI 9521 electric acoustic bass. This was a replacement model for the popular Epiphone Rivoli, though other than being semi-acoustic, these guitars had very little in common. This bass was produced at the Japanese Matsumoku plant for Epiphone between 1970 and 1975, and was initially known in the USA as the Epiphone 5120, but from mid 1972 was given the designation Epiphone EA-260.
The EPI 9521 bass was described as follows:
Double cutaway, select hardwood top, rims and back, three piece low action adjustable neck, high gloss cherry–red finish, pearl dot inlays, multiple body binding, two powerful bass pickups, two volume controls, two tone controls, pickup selector switch, custom designed mute, adjustable precision bridge, de luxe, machine heads. Chrome plated parts
The 1970 UK launch price for the Epiphone 9521 electric semi-acoustic bass was £71.25.
