The Japanese-built Epiphone line of guitars launched in late 1970 after decades of production in the USA. Rosetti had been the UK distributor for Epiphone throughout the 1960s, and this relationship continued into the 1970s; this being the first UK catalogue of Japanese Epiphones.
The catalogue starts with two Epiphone Jumbo flat-top acoustic guitars: the Epiphone Jumbo 6730 and Epiphone Jumbo Deluxe 6830, both made by Matsumoku in Japan.
The Jumbo De Luxe 6830 is described as follows:
De luxe jumbo flat top guitar, fine spruce top, rosewood rims and back, low action three piece adjustable neck, rosewood, fingerboard, block fingerboard inlays, multiple body binding, decorative purfling rings, chrome plated machine heads with attractive buttons, adjustable bridge.
The 1970 UK launch prices for these guitars were as follows: Epiphone 6730 £54; Epiphone 6830 £66.50.
