The reverse cover of the Harmony catalog shows illustrations of two Harmony plants in Chicago, USA - the first (top) was opened in 1940, but with ever increasing demand in the 1960s, a second was added in 1962.

Travel back in time with this sweet old electric guitar. Silvertone was the old Sears & Roebuck department store guitar brand from about 1940 to 1970. But it was built by the late, great Harmony Company in Chicago, Illinois. The Harmony ink-stamp is hard to read, but I think it read 65, indicating it was built in 1965. But it could be 55, indicating 1955. I went through the Silvertone World fansite and the old Demont Harmony website (on the Wayback Machine), but could find this ... more

Flashback to the 60's. it's a Holiday branded guitar made by Harmony Stratotone Model H-45. It's a tone chamber hollow body and it's all original even down to the de'armond Hersey bar pickup. This guitar intonates well, neck is straight and is in overall very good condition for its age. Also comes with an original case. 1965 Harmony Meteor H70 in very good condition for year. All original as far as I can tell. Maple laminate body. Great sounding DeArmond 'moustache' pickups. Nicely set up with easy action and comfy D shaped neck. Frets have been dressed with plenty of life remaining. Same model as used by Keith Richards and Ray Davies in the '60's. Includes correct period case, which is a bit tatty around the edges but fully serviceable. Rarely available in the UK. Would prefer local pick up but will post to ... more
