Guild 1978 catalog page 8. The S-60 was launched in 1977. Again available as an S-60D with Dimarzio pickups. Whereas the S-60 has one Guild humbucker, the S-60D was equipped with two Dimarzio SDS-1 (Super Distortion Single coil) pickups.
It's easy to see why the Sā 60 has been making waves ever since it was first introduced. It gives you everything you need at a great price!
If one pick-up is all you need, try the S-60 with its single Guild humbucker.
If you want the unique tonal characteristics of DiMarzios, take the S-60D. It's the same guitar with a pair of DiMarzio SDS-1 pick ups.
And you get the same new shape, wide frets, bridge, tailpiece and quality finish as on the S-300 ā including a four full octave curved rosewood fingerboard.
1978 US list prices for these guitars (September 1st, 1978) were as follows: S-60, $299; S-60D $399.
