Guild 1978 catalog page 5. Once again this page shows two more jazz acoustic electric guitars, the X-175 and the CE-100D. Although the CE-100D pictured has a (slightly darker) mahogany neck, it is listed here as having a three-piece maple neck for the first time. As described in the 1975 Guild catalogue, the neck is still long (25 5/8") scale, although this was back to 24 3/4" before the final appearance in the 1982 Guild catalog. This page uses the same illustrations as page 3 of the 1975 Guild catalog, with slightly modified description.
Maple top, sides and back... a slightly smaller body with a distinctive cutaway ...and a well-deserved reputation among professionals as a dependable guitar. Try the CE-100D if you're kind of playing calls for a highly responsive and with a very bright sound.
1978 US list prices for these guitars (September 1st, 1978) were as follows: X-175, $815; CE-100D $715.
