Descriptions of three Guild Bluesbirds: the M-75 BluesBird guitar, and the single and dual pickup M-85-I and M-85-II BluesBird basses.
Compact semi-solid models without f-holes. Body 2 7/8" deep, only 13 1/2" wide, 17 1/4" long. Mahogany sides and back, spruce top, white ivoroid binding. Fine sound. From headpiece to tailpiece, a most unusual instrument to own and to play.
From 1969 the BluesBird guitar had the neck-body join at the 18th fret, as shown in the 1970 Guild catalogue. The guitar pictured here still has the neck join at the 16th fret, which was standard since the models (re)introduction in 1967.
The Guild June 1969 price list prices for these guitars were as follows: M-75 $425, M-85 $370, M-85-II $440.
