This page continues the section on Guild flat-top acoustic guitars, with two Guild six string flat top acoustics (F-20 Troubadour and F-30 Aragon) and two twelve string flat tops (F-212 and F-312 Artist).
This page is almost identical to the equivalent pages in the 1965/1966 and 1966 Guild catalogs, using the same images and model descriptions. The cases offered are updated however, and this is the first catalog to mention the electric version of the F-212, the F-212-E.
The F-212 is described as follows:
12-string tuning is popular with folk singers and accompanists because of the full sound it achieves. The 1st and 2nd double strings are tuned in unison; the 3rd, 4th. 5th and 6th double strings are tuned in octaves. Body size of this model is 16" wide by 20" long by 4 7/8" deep. Back and sides are of choice mahogany. Finest spruce top. Back and top are bound with ivoroid. Has Guild's fast-action 3-piece mahogany neck with adjustable steel rod. The fingerboard of this fine guitar is made of imported rosewood, inlaid with 8 pearl position markers. Beautifully inlaid headpiece. Nickel-plated non-slip pegs and Guild Strings.
June 1968 US prices for these guitars were as follows: F-20 Troubadour $165 (Sunburst), $175 (Blonde); F-30 Aragon $200 (Sunburst), $215 (Blonde); F-212 $335, F-212-E $385; F-312 Artist $525.
