The 1963 Guild electric guitars catalog was a two colour, 16 page brochure of Guild electric acoustic guitars, solid bodies, flat-top acoustics and amplifiers available from the company circa 1963. Dimensions 12" x 9". The immediate focus of this catalog is on carved-top acoustic jazz guitars - the first few pages show these models (with the super-deluxe Artist Award leading the way). Later catalogs typically highlight electric guitars, specifically the Starfire series that are not shown until the back cover of this catalog.
New models making their catalog debuts include Guild's new line of solid body electrics, the S-200 Thunderbird, S-100 Polara and S-50 Jet-Star, two George Barnes signature models, the Guitar in F and Guild Acousti-Lectric, the Guild Valencia F-40 flat top and Mark VI Classic acoustics. At the time this catalog was produced, Guild still did not offer a bass model - the Starfire bass and Jetstar bass both launched in 1964.
The 1963 Guild guitars catalog featured 23 electric guitars, 5 archtop acoustic, 6 classic acoustic, 5 flat top acoustic and 6 amplifier models. The following guitars / amps are shown. Click on the images for full size versions, or click on the model names below for more about each instrument.
