For those who seek musical expression in the field of folk music, accompaniment or classical performance . . . the Classic by Guild!
Page 15 shows Guild's classic acoustic range: Mark I - Mark VI. This relatively new range was launched in 1962, and all but the Mark VI were included in the previous 1962 Guild catalog. Each model had the same dimensions and basic construction with differences between models primarily in woods employed, and attention to detail during production.
The true Classic guitar conforms to specifications developed during the course of several centuries and passed along from generation to generation of guitarists and guitar makers. Conforming to tradition, the body size of all Guild Classic Guitars is 14 1/2" wide, 19 1/8" long and 3 1/2" deep. The neck joins the body at the 12th fret. The scale is 25 1/2" long.
1963 US prices for these guitars were as follows: Mark I $109.50; Mark II $149.50; Mark III $190; Mark IV $250; Mark V $395; Mark VI $500.
