Page 6 - Gretsch 6119 Tennessean and 6120 Nashville
Chet Atkins endorsed three Gretsch guitars in the 1968 catalog. The 6122 Country Gentleman (see previous page), the 6120 Nashville, and the 6119 Tennessean.
The Nashville and Tennessean were slightly smaller than the Country Gentleman, with a 16" wide body as opposed to the 17" body of the latter.
1968 US prices for these models were $500 for the Nashville, and $400 for the Tennessean.
Nashville The exciting Nashville is the original Chet Atkins hollow body electric. Immensely popular, it has established itself as a pacesetter. Striking good looks, high styling and superb sound are responsible. And what's more its low action design gives you easy fast fingering and lightning changes without fatigue. It is today's "upfront" guitar.
Tennessean Famous for its unique Chet Atkins sound and styling, the Tennessean hollow body electric is an all-time favourite. A superb guitar in the Gretsch tradition, it's 2" silhouette makes it comfortable to hold and easy to play.
