The GV19 Maestro vibrola was designed for solid body guitars only, most notably the Gibson SG Special, SG Junior and Melody Maker guitars, but also the Kalamazoo KG1a and KG2a. The first image here shows it fitted to a 1966 Kalamazoo KG2a guitar. Early GV19 vibrolas were screwed into the guitar body with three spacers maintaining vibrola height. It is attached to the body with three screws. Note the image showing the disassembled GV19 vibrola, highlighting the mounting screws and associated spacers.
Later versions of this vibrola had a solid bass-plate which sat flush against the guitar body, and a plastic handle. Compare the images of the walnut-finished Melody Maker (1969) with the earlier (1964-66) guitars in the first few images.
