Tim Shaw developed a number of humbuckers for Gibson in the late 1970s/early 1980s, including the Magna Plus B; an exposed coil 'zebra stripe' cream/black unit, with adjustable pole pieces on the black portion of the pickup. The Magna Plus B was not widely used, and unlike the majority of better known pickups of the time, was not promoted as an upgrade/replacement part in Gibson literature. It was designed for use in the neck position of the Gibson Victory MVX. For further details of the Victory series pickups, see the Victory MV owners manual.
Humbucking pickup with one iron loaded coil and one magnet loaded coil.
Dimensions (excluding mounting tabs): 2.60" x 1.39" x 0.78".

Magna Plus pickup in situ in the neck position of a 1981 Gibson Victory MV-X. The Magna Plus B at the bridge is a hotter version of this pickup, being taller with 35% more windings in total.
The Magna Plus is scratchplate-mounted, with three screws (one at the top, two at the bottom) to allow adjustment of both height and rake.

The coils are mounted onto a "ferrous reflector plate for additional output" - stamped on the underside with Gibson's usual humbucker patent number 2,737,842 - this actually refers to an earlier bridge/tailpiece patent, rather than Seth Lover's humbucker, but was the number Gibson used for decades.
