The insert for the 335-S Standard shows an image on one side, with specifications on the reverse. All text and image are identical (save the lack of colour) to the entry on page 60 of the 1980 Gibson catalog.
The 335-S Standard was part of Gibson's 'Firebrand' series of instruments - an idea conceived in mid 1980 (see Gibson product alignment), but seemingly dropped by early 1981, with instruments in this segment either reallocated, or as with the 335-S Standard, deleted. According to the defining characteristics of a Gibson Special (see the inside cover), this guitar very much fits the close out category, last being listed in the July 1980 US price list at $499.
