Gibson Victory and Flying V electric basses, as seen in the 1981 Rosetti Gibson catalogue. At this time, the Gibson bass range was not limited to just these three models; the Grabber, Ripper and G-3 were still being produced in very small numbers, though were certainly on their way out, and were not included in catalogues or price lists.
Note the price reduction for fretless examples of the Victory Standard bass (but not the Artist): £499 vs £529 fretless/fretted. This was not the case in American price lists, and it may well be that in the UK this variant was not receiving the orders that was hoped for it. The Victory Artist bass was listed at £640 in Candy Apple Red, or £670 in Antique Fireburst.
This was the only UK catalog appearance of the V bass, but it was such a limited production that it barely gets a mention in any US Gibson publicity either. It is listed here available in Ebony (1981 UK price £715), Silverburst or Blue (£735).
