Gibson 1980 guitar and bass catalog. Page 16. Details of the Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion. The Fusion was quite different from the original Epiphone Howard Roberts, and the newer Gibson HR Artist, and Custom guitars. Most notably it lacked the soundhole (having f-holes instead), but was also thinner, with a shorter scale (24 3/4" as opposed to 25 1/2") and available in several different finishes: still Antique Sunburst, but also Antique Fireburst and Ebony.
The Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion had a 1980 US list price of $1199, the cheapest of the three Howard Roberts guitars available at this time.
