The Les Paul Pro Deluxe was launched in 1978 (actually a handful seem to have shipped in 1977), and this was its first catalog appearance. By 1982 it was discontinued. In 1978, Gibson shipped 5947 Les Paul Standards, versus 1399 Pro Deluxes.
