Gibson 1976 bass catalog. Page 6. Left hand page of a double page spread on another new model, the Gibson Grabber (making its very first catalog appearance) and an older model, the Gibson EB3. This page shows a detailed view of the Grabber sliding humbucker mounted on a tortoiseshell pickguard (more information on that pickup here). A few early Grabbers were fitted with a pickguard like this (the best known example appears in the 1976 We don't promise you fantasies Grabber advert), but the vast majority of Grabbers shipped had a plain black, single ply pickguard.
It only follows that the world’s finest guitars are made with the world’s finest parts that's why Gibson's genuine replacement parts are almost as highly acclaimed as the instruments they make up. Humbucking pickups, stop tailpieces, tuning pegs, control knobs... they're all the best you can get, and you can get them all from Gibson.
This is a reprint of the 1975 bass catalog, updated and expanded a year later. Although some pages elsewhere in the catalog are updated from the 1975 print, this page is identical to the 1975 page 6.
