It had a January 1975 US price of $349 (natural satin finish) / $399 (wine red), and was the cheapest six string Gibson guitar in price lists of that time, replacing the SG1/SGII/SGIII as the entry level solid body. Actually the Grabber bass was a shade cheaper still at $319.
