With popularity of the deleted Gibson Les Paul rising in the mid / late 1960s, it was no surprise that Gibson reintroduced some new Les Paul guitars in 1968. Gibson's association with Les Paul was renewed, which lead to the reissuing of some older models (Gibson Les Paul Standard, Gibson Les Paul Custom), and ultimately the development of several new models such as the low impedance Les Paul Professional and Les Paul Personal.
The Les Paul would remain a constant fixture in the Gibson line up continuously from this time.
The June 1968 Gibson Les Paul brochure was a simple four-sided folded sheet dimensions 9" x 12", two-colour print. It featured the following guitars. Click on the images for full size versions, or click on the model names below for more about each instrument

When the history of our contemporary musical era is written, one personality will undoubtedly occupy a position of prominence. A creative electronic and musical genius of the first magnitude, he launched the entire popular music world into a new dimension of sound.
He revolutionized fretted instruments with his developments in the realm of amplification and pickup design.
He took the almost primitive recording techniques of the day and developed them to the point that his studio was in demand by virtually every important musical performer on the west coast.
He worked with Gibson in the development of guitars which have never been surpassed in popularity. Years after production had ceased, the demand for these instruments continued, bringing about an unprecedented reissuing of these two models.
Gibson is proud to announce its newly reborn affiliation with the man who has come to be known to millions of music lovers the world over as "Mr. Guitar" ...
