Page 32 shows two fairly new folk singer models, both debuting in 1963, but only shipping for a few years in the mid/late 1960s. These guitars were fitted with pick guards on either side of the sound hole, for maximum strum protection.
The Gibson FJ-N folk jumbo was a standard jumbo size with 16 1/4" width body - very similar to the SJN Southerner Jumbo, and priced identically.
A square-shouldered folk instrument that offers the deep resonance and power that is so popular with the folk artists of today. Has a Honduras mahogany back and rim with selected natural spruce top.
The F-25 was a smaller (14 1/4" wide) instrument, the same size as the B-25 and LG guitars shown on the previous page, and perfect for the musician on the move. Likewise, the F-25 was the same price as the B-25.
A fine quality folk instrument offered at an attractive low price. Gives rich, mellow tone, good response and power in a guitar that's easy to handle.
These Gibson folk acoustics had an April 1966 list price (zone 1) of: FJ-N $220; F-25 $147.50.
