Page 30 continues the flat top guitar series with the Gibson J-45, J-50 and electric acoustic J-160E.
The J-45 / J-50 were great guitars indeed, in fact the best-selling Gibson Jumbos. Between 1942 and 1979, a total of 62655 J-45 and 56682 J-50 guitars left the Kalamazoo plant!
A popular-priced jumbo guitar with exceptional resonance and response. Handsome natural finish top with contrasting dark Walnut finish rim. Gibson proved engineered bracing and construction.
The J-160E, although not as old as the J-45/J-50 was still a well established model by this time, having been introduced by Gibson in 1954.
Here it is - the popular jumbo flat top that's electric - and the only guitar of its type with the adjustable bridge that gives perfect action plus much more power and sustaining quality to the tone. An exceptional amplified instrument, popular with Country and Western artists.
These guitars had an April 1966 list price (zone 1) of: J-45 $175; J-50 $175; J-160E $245.
