The Gibson LG-1 was an immensely popular small-body flat top guitar. Between 1948, the year of it's first production in the Gibson Kalamazoo plant, and it's withdrawal in 1968, it sold close to 60000 units. A similar model, the LG-0 did actually sell more guitars in individual years, though with a shorter production run, it sold less in total.

Top value and low price make this Gibson flat top a popular seller. Quality materials and expert craftsmanship combine to produce it's fine responsive tone and rich sunburst finish
The 1965 price was $125 (USA zone 1), compared to $105 for the LG-0.
The LG-1 was built at Gibson's Kalamazoo factory, in Michigan, USA between 1948-1968. It sold well throughout this period, though never more than its sibling, the Gibson LG-0. It did particularly well in the mid 1960s: the peak year was 1965 with sales of 7839, but 1964 and 1966 were also high selling years. A total of 57827 examples left the plant over twenty years of production.
