Three tube versions of the Bassman amplifier (see also the following page). The Bantam Bassman, Bassman, and Super Bassman.
These were all new bass amplifier models at the time, and this is some of the first publicity relating to them. Their first inclusion in a catalog was not until 1970.
The Bantam Bassman was a 30w bass combo using an asymmetrically-shaped Yamaha /Natural Sound' speaker. The Bassman had a 50w tube head, powering a 2x15" cabinet, fitted with Fender heavy duty speakers. Actually price lists of the time also describe this set up with JBL speakers, though they are not mentioned here. The Super Bassman was 100w, and also powered a 2x15" cab, fitted with either the Fender speakers, or high-end JBL D140F speakers.
In April 1970, the US list price for these amplifiers were: Bantam Bassman $367.50, Bassman $565 ($712.50 with JBL speakers), and Super Bassman I $835 ($980 with JBL speakers).
