This single sided insert gives specifications for the Epiphone 1820 solid body electric bass, produced for Epiphone by Aria, at the Japanese Matsumoku plant.
Model 1820 had a US list price (October 1970) of $115.
The latest in modern appearance, the 1820 features a graceful modern cutaway design and a high gloss cherry red finish. Incorporates unusual quality, features, and performance at a very popular price.
The 'Pick Epiphone' folder, although dated 1971, was filled with inserts printed as early as late 1970, and as late as 1972. This insert comes from the very first series printed in late 1970, and as such uses the original Aria model designations, soon to be updated by Epiphone. This sheet was replaced in 1971, when this guitar was renamed the ET-280.
The bass pictured has several distinguishing early features, that would change over the next few years of production, most notably the four-ply scratchplate, and arched truss-rod cover - both lacking the Epiphone 'E' logo.
