Epiphone full line 1964 full line catalog. Page 4, Epiphone solid body guitars. Details of the Crestwood Deluxe and Crestwood Custom, Wilshire and Coronet. These guitars had been redesigned since the previous catalog appearance (see pages 8 and 9 of the 1962 Epiphone catalogue) to feature the new non-symmetrical bodies, batwing-style headstock and new scratchplates with mounted controls.
These instruments were all built at the famous Gibson Kalamazoo plant, side by side with Gibson's early sixties solid bodies such as the SG series and Melody Maker. Like the aforementioned Gibsons, these guitars had a mahogany body and set mahogany neck, with rosewood fingerboard, and shared much of the hardware.
1964 US zone 1 prices for these guitars were as listed in the September '64 price list: Crestwood Deluxe, $480; Crestwood Custom, $370, Wilshire, $265 ($292.50 with vibrola); Coronet, $175 ($202.50 with vibrola).
Epiphone is proud to present solid body instruments that offer the deep rumble, the sharp treble, the biting tone and virility that all guitarists seek from a solid body instrument
