Epiphone 1962 'guitars, basses, amplifiers', page 11. Epiphone Rivoli bass (EA-65), Epiphone Devon (EA-35, EA-35T) and Epiphone Pathfinder (EA-28RVT) amplifiers. The Rivoli and Devon were both existing amplifier models shown in the 1961 Epiphone catalog (pages 11 and 12), however both are modified to a greater or lesser degree. The Rivoli bass has a reduced power rating (25w from 30w) with a larger speaker (15" replacing 12"). No doubt this was a response to the Gibson/Epiphone bass humbucker damaging smaller speaker cones, as described in a 1961 issue of Gibson Gazette. The Epiphone Devon, on the other hand, had a power increase, from 9w to 15w, 5 tubes instead of 4, whilst keeping its same 12" speaker. The Pathfinder is a new amplifier model making its debut in this catalog. With its 15w output, 12" speaker and identically-sized cabinet, it is rather similar to the Devon, however equipped with both reverb and tremolo.
