Epiphone 1962 'guitars, basses, amplifiers', page 10. Epiphone Emperor, Futura, and Zephyr amplifiers. The Epiphone Emperor and Zephyr were both existing amplifier models shown in the 1961 Epiphone catalog, however both are changed to a greater or lesser degree. The Emperor EA-5RVT, whilst still maintaining its 15" speaker is now more powerful 35w (increased from 25w), with 9 tubes (increased from 6), and has an optional Lansing speaker (model EA-5RVTL). The Zephyr (EA-15RVT) keeps the same power rating and speaker, but is now equipped with tremolo (hence the T in the model designation). The Futura is a completely new model, replacing the Deluxe in the previous catalog. Both have a 25w power rating, though the Futura has a 4x8" speaker configuration replacing the single 15" speaker of the Deluxe, and furthermore built in tremolo.
Note all three models have a new design two-tone control panel.
